We love the Northwest Folklife Festival and it's a big honor for Hearth Music to back hosting a stage. This is a chance for us to spread the word about some of the wonderful Northwest music we enjoy and to expose some new friends to our old friends.
ABOUT THE BANDS:
Liam Fitzgerald & The Rainieros:
Where in the HECK did these boys come from! Absolutely pitch-perfect vintage country roots, from the cowboy hats to the long sets at Seattle's country underground The Little Red Hen, Liam Fitzgerald runs a red-hot honky-tonk band in the urban Northwest that puts all the hipster honky-tonkers to shame. This is the real deal here, so you better get a beer in your hand and a hat on your head, or at least plan to dance the night away with these boys. Their new album, Last Call, has all the gritty twang of a dusty roadhouse and it's been on constant repeat at Hearth Music Headquarters. Ever since Zoe Muth broke on a national level and Caleb Klauder got discovered, we've been looking for the next big roots country band to come out of the Northwest. And now we found it! Long Live The Rainieros!
Liam Fitzgerald & The Rainieros: What Would You Do

Jacob Miller:
Recently arrived to the Northwest, Jacob Miller was another wonderful discovery for us. He picks old-time, ragtime, country-time and old blues guitar with a steady, iron finger, and his voice is just a delight. Weary and hopeful at the same time, young and old, powerful and soft, his vocals sound incredibly fresh, especially for how old the songs sound. I think all the songs on his album were penned by Miller himself, though it's a really good sign that I had to go to google a whole bunch of times to check that they're not traditional. Jacob's bringing up some buddies from Portland for the show, so let's be sure to give him a warm welcome to the Northwest. Keep your eyes and ears on this kid, he's going places for sure!!
Jacob Miller: Bone Orchard Blues
WB Reid & Bonnie Zahnow:
True Northwest icons, WB & Bonnie have played in countless bands and have led a couple new generations into the light, helping them young punks find the old truths in American old-time, country blues, ragtime, jugband and hokum traditions. They also host master musicians at their house concerts, and are always up for a jam session or a conversation about the old masters. Join their set to discover some great new old tunes and to sing along with the classics.
WB Reid & Bonnie Zahnow: Chitlin' Cookin' Time in Cheatham County
Les Pamplemousses:
In the spirit of French chansons, Les Pamplemousses bring you the cafe music of Edith Piaf and her compatriots. Marchette DuBois on accordion and Ines Andrade on French vocals, this sweet duo will have you wistfully dreaming of hot baguettes, little bowls of coffee, and a good glass of French wine. Vive le France!
