HearthPR is one of the leading roots and Americana music publicity agencies in the United States. Our artists have been covered by NPR, Daytrotter, The FADER, Noisey, The New York Times, Paste Magazine, most Northwest media outlets and many many more. We are rapidly expanding and looking for a passionate individual interested in starting their career in the music industry. This is a great entry into the world of music and event-based publicity and an opportunity to learn what goes on behind the scenes of the music industry. There is room to grow in this position and possible perks like travel for conferences, shows, or festivals. We are based out of Seattle, Washington from a home office in the Northern suburb of Shoreline. This is a junior-level publicist position intended for database work, entry-level publicity, social media work, and on-the-job training.
Job Duties include:
— Researching contacts at media outlets across the nation
— Compiling contacts into a database
— Overseeing export and import work between various databases
— Working with websites, blogs, and social media accounts
— Compiling company reports for artists
— Maintaining schedules for artists’ interviews and in-studios
— Contact media outlets to solicit media coverage
— Coordinating publicity for artists on tour
— Interfacing with artists directly
— Writing promotional copy
— Deep experience with Excel, Google Sheets, and databases of contacts
— Attention to detail
— Interest in music, marketing, and publicity
— Independence and self-motivation
— Broad knowledge of social media marketing and management
— Passion for roots music of all kinds
— Passing knowledge of musical genres
— Excellent writing skills
Music Publicity, Marketing, or Public Relations experience a big plus.
