Position: Full-Time Music Publicist

HearthPR is one of the leading roots and Americana music publicity agencies in the United States. Our artists have been covered by NPR, Daytrotter, The FADER, Noisey, The New York Times, Paste Magazine, most Northwest media outlets and many many more. We are rapidly expanding and looking to hire a passionate, focused individual as a full-time music publicist. There is room to grow for someone who wants to get to know the music industry inside and out, plus travel possibilities and a chance to work with interesting and engaging clients. Extensive background in music publicity is not required, though applicants with experience will have an advantage. Applicants need to have a working knowledge of the music industry and experience specific to promoting music in some way. We are based out of Seattle, Washington from a home office in the Northern suburb of Shoreline.

 

Job Duties Include:

— Pitching to regional and national media outlets
— Interfacing directly with artists
— Writing and editing press releases and bio pitches for artists
— Directing elements of multiple campaigns
— Scheduling interviews and in-studios
— Working with press contacts, as well as some radio
— Traveling to music conferences and attending local shows
— Coordinating across multiple publicity campaigns with management and other team members
— Social media management and oversight
— Building personal connections with key journalists and media contacts
— Travel for conferences, shows, and festivals
— Reporting directly to management and clients, plus compiling weekly reports

 

Qualifications

— A passion for a wide spread of musical genres, primarily Americana, roots, world, and indie
— A proven ability to write creatively on a variety of topics
— Experience writing promotional copy for clients
— Knowledge of MSOffice suite, Google suite, Excel
— Ability to multi-task in a very fast-paced work environment
— Interest in attending shows and musical events
— An outgoing and engaging personality and a deep interest in the music industry
— Ability to work independently and as a team member, while using discretion in decision making and sound judgment in problem solving.

 

Additional Skills That Would Help

— Proven experience in music marketing, publicity and/or radio promotion.
— Published writing, whether in print or online.
— Experience running social media campaigns on a variety of platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)
— Marketing or digital marketing experience

 

Compensation

This is a full-time position. Compensation will range depending on qualifications. Applicant must be ready to start immediately and must be based in Seattle (and/or greater Seattle area) or willing to relocate.
