The opening track of the new album from NW indie-Americana songwriter Courtney Marie Andrews is up now on famed indie blog Culture Collide. Check out "Rookie Dreaming":
"Courtney Marie Andrews knows where she belongs, but it took her some time to get there. The Nashville natural has toured with big names and on her own in the US as well as Europe, and it's those lonesome train rides that inspired her new track “Rookie Dreaming.” Andrews says that “essentially, 'Rookie Dreaming' is a coming of age song; an idea that evokes certainty in the uncertain." Now, after touring for the better part of a decade, she’s found solace in the Northwest, settling in Washington State where she performs regularly.
Planting roots in a rural small town has allowed Andrews to make the music she loves, and now she's back with a new LP Honest Life. Single “Rookie Dreaming,” is a tender portrayal of a long-ago sound, and as Andrews croons “I’m a 1960’s movie, I’m an unwritten story,” you’ll hear the Americana songwriting Ryan Adams and Mary Lambert have praised."
